Setup VPS from scratch

A virtual private server (VPS) is a virtual machine sold as a service by an Internet hosting service.

To start having fun you need at least: 1vCpu, 2GB RAM e 20GB SSD with 100 mbps bandwidth

Then

• Make sure that you have a root access to the VPS
• Secure SSH access – more info
• Install docker and docker compose – more info
• Install utils (git, vim, firewall-cmd)
• Install certbot (in the machine or inside a docker)
• Install VPN
• Configure docker compose file and the services
  • web server httpd / nginx
  • server nodejs
  • database mongo / mysql
  • mail server
  • and so on…
• Use cron jobs to check the server healty – more info
• Configure DNS
